FAQ

Q: What is the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan diet?

A: Both emphasize plant-based foods and both diets do not consume foods that involve killing animals. A vegetarian diet allows for eggs as well as dairy products like milk, cheese and yogurt. A vegan diet is entirely plant based and does not include any animal-based foods, including honey.

Q: Are you a dedicated nut-free kitchen?

A: We do not use any tree nuts or peanuts in our kitchen. Coconut is not botanically a nut, and we do use coconut in some of our products. Please contact us prior to ordering if you have a severe life-threatening nut allergy.

Q: Is the kitchen certified gluten free?

A: No. We do use wheat and recommend that those with celiac disease make their choices accordingly. We use best practices to segregate wheat and gluten products in our kitchen. We clean and sanitize work surfaces and baking equipment on a daily basis to prevent cross-contamination.

Q: Do you use organic ingredients?

A: Most of our baking staples and pantry items are certified organic, such as flours, sugars, plantmilk, and oils. We source certified organic vegetables and fruits and seasonal local products when available at the market.

Q: Do you use GMO ingredients?

A: No.

Q: Are your containers recyclable / compostable?

A: Our containers are recyclable (depending on local recycling capabilities) but not compostable. We limit the amount and kind of packaging where possible.

Q: Are you open to the public?

A: Due to the coronavirus, our facility is currently closed to the public out of an abundance of caution. Orders placed online, by phone, or email may be picked up 48 hours curbside Tuesday through Friday after your scheduled pick up time. We are open 9.30am and 4pm.

CUSTOM CAKES:

Q: How much time is needed to order a custom cake?

A: We recommend calling or emailing your custom cake request at least one week in advance for smaller celebration cakes serving up to 20 guests. Wedding cakes require a minimum of two months for booking.

CURBSIDE PICKUP:

Q: How does curbside pickup work?

A: All orders are available for curbside pickup Tuesday - Friday between 9:30am - 4pm. On the day of your pickup, please call us and we will bring out your order.

SHIPPING:

Q: Do you ship?

A: Some of our items, that do not require refrigeration, can be shipped. Call to make arrangements.

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?

A: We ship by either the United States Postal Service (USPS) or United Parcel Service (UPS) by ground to locations within the contiguous United States. We ship within 48 hours of receiving the order. Depending on your location, the package can arrive up to five days after shipping. You will receive an email that includes a tracking number confirming that we have shipped your order.
