FAQ

Q: What is the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan diet?

A: Both emphasize plant-based foods and both diets do not consume foods that involve killing animals. A vegetarian diet allows for eggs as well as dairy products like milk, cheese and yogurt. A vegan diet is entirely plant based and does not include any animal-based foods, including honey.

Q: Are you a dedicated nut-free facility?

A: Yes, we do not use any tree nuts or peanuts in our facility. Coconut is not botanically a nut, and we do use coconut in some of our products. Please contact us prior to ordering if you have a severe life-threatening nut allergy.

Q: Is the kitchen certified gluten free?

A: No. We do use wheat and recommend that those with celiac disease make their choices accordingly. We use best practices to segregate wheat and gluten products in our kitchen. We bake gluten free on dedicated days and clean and sanitize work surfaces and baking equipment on a daily basis to prevent cross-contamination.

Q: Do you use organic ingredients?

A: Most of our baking staples and pantry items are certified organic, such as flours, sugars, plantmilk, and oils. We source certified organic vegetables and fruits and seasonal local products when available at the market.

Q: Do you use GMO ingredients?

A: No.

Q: Are your containers recyclable / compostable?

A: Our containers are recyclable (depending on local recycling capabilities) but not compostable. We limit the amount and kind of packaging where possible.

Q: Are you open to the public?

A: Due to the coronavirus, our facility is currently closed to the public out of an abundance of caution. Orders placed online, by phone, or email may be picked up curbside every Friday between 10am and 4pm. We will be adding additional curbside pick up times at a later date.

Q: I would like to sell Flourish Baking Company products in my store. Do you take wholesale accounts?

A: Please contact us directly regarding your interest and quantities.
